Problems with previous valuation methodologies

Challenge: Most valuation methodologies use just one metric, treat all IP as one entity, do not make allowances for the varying value profile over time of each IP type, do not allow for the symbiotic interaction between component IP, and tend to only consider formal IP such as patents and trademarks (as detailed in the Appendix).

Solution: We use multiple metrics, use regressions to determine the weighting coefficient of each, value each IP component individually, consider all types of IP including trade secrets and know how and allow for the symbiotic interaction between IP components.
